A Common Problem Dog Owners Face

Posted February 20th, 2010 by admin

While it is fun to feed your dog the leftover scraps from your plate the best advise is not to. There are a couple of good reasons why. One is that it can encourage your dog to beg at the table when you are eating. While this is already a common problem, you can make it much worse. Second is the fact that outside of your dogs regular meal time and the occasional treat, you can wind up with an overweight dog if you are not careful.

The last thing to remember is that there are certain foods that are not good for dogs and some can be quite harmful to them. Most people know that chocolate is very bad for dogs. However, many people don’t know that foods like grapes / raisins, onions, citrus oils and mushrooms can all cause serious harm to your dog if eaten. So do your research before giving your dog a treat and remember that it is best to do it away from the kitchen table when you are having a meal.
